There are some piccolo & marching drum snares in some of the packs i've seen but they're too shallow & hollow for what i'm going for, & it seems that all the steel-shell snares that they do manage to use (in the post-metal pack they even got a 6.5x14 stainless-steel keplinger), they are all tuned quite low, & EQ & compression & artificial tuning can only do so much when the source sound is that low. Orchestral Percussion SDX Specifications: SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS. ![]() ![]() the way it cracks & cuts through the mix is exactly what i've been dying to get out of a drum plugin for ages now, & i'm wondering if there are any other expansion packs put out by toontrack that have anything similar as far as snare sounds go?įor context, i've previewed a ton of different EDX/SDX expansions (even ones where they funnily enough got people like Clyde Stubblefield to contribute) but i still find that nearly all of them are either too soft or are still tuned too low to get that tight metallic crack sound that i'm looking to emulate.
